Cricket - Catch it!

2012 Cricket Coaching course details announced! Free course for school teachers!

In conjunction with the Pepsi ICC Development Programme Europe, Czech Cricket plans to vastly increase their presence in Czech schools in the year 2012.

The development team are led by Scott Page and Jan Bartošik with assistance from our qualified coaches Dany Hudeček and Tim Hort.

In 2011, cricket demonstrations and lessons were held in four schools: Gymnázium Jaroslava HeyrovskéhoPrague British SchoolRiverside School and English College Prague. A successful junior tournament was held in November at PBS and you can find a full report here: 2011 Junior Tournament. ECP entered a team into this year's Winter League tournament again and were competitive in every game, with a squad including two 17-year-old players who represented the Czech National Team in Slovenia in 2011.

In 2012 we plan to run introduction-to-cricket coaching courses, the first step to becoming a fully-qualified cricket coach. These courses are also ideal for teachers, both foreign and Czech. In May, our work at schools will intensify leading up to a summer tournament. And we hope to increase involvement in other regions of the country also, including Moravia where another qualified coach lives.

The final details of the "Cricket - Catch it!" project will be posted by the end of March.
