On an entertaining finals day at Kriket Vinoř, Sudesh Wickremasinghe again starred for PCC as they defeated Vinohrady by five wickets with nine balls to spare in the T20 League Final.
The day began with PCC taking on Dresden in the rescheduled semi-final. Batting first, Dresden posted 145 for 7, with Vikran's 46 anchoring the innings. Leg-spinner Martin picked up three wickets as the PCC bowlers did a good job restricting Dresden's final total.
Dresden's opening bowler Mamun caused a wobble at the top with three early wickets, but Sudesh combined with Prakash in an unbeaten 113-run stand for the fourth wicket as PCC eased to a seven-wicket win with 21 balls to spare. Sudesh needed just 45 balls for his 85 not out, hitting 13 fours and four sixes.
PCC were asked to chase again in the final, and Vinohrady had contributions of 30+ from Lukáš, Chris and Rahul, who top-scored with 46 as the team posted 159-7.
Sudesh again led PCC, scoring 51 alongside 28 from Prakash as PCC edged a tense match to celebrate the retention of the trophy.
In the third-place match, the first competitive match to be held on Vinoř's new second wicket, Susanta scored a fantastic 65 before retiring to lead Bohemians to 176 for 8 off their 20 overs. In response, Abhi and Javed took three wickets apiece as Dresden crumbled to 81 all out.
